Last night (9-5-11), North Georgia experienced some terrible weather and several tornadoes made appearances in Kennesaw, Woodstock, Canton, Ball Ground, and everywhere in between. Many people still remain without power and there are tons of houses with damage in our communities.
Here are a few pictures from my in-laws’ neighborhood in Towne Lake, right outside of Woodstock:
And here are a few pictures of my aunt’s road in Ball Ground, just north of Canton:
As you can see, this terrible weather did some serious damage. From what I have seen on the news, these pictures are minor compared to what some peoples’ homes have experienced. If you have some spare time, why not lend a helping hand to your neighbors, friends, or members of your community and find out ways you can help?
That was ridiculous! I live in Ballground as well and I it was really bad. Fortunately, the street I live on didn't receive any major damage. I was at work when it happened, and I work in the Canton Marketplace so it was right above us! We could actually see debris going up into the sky. It was a little humorous though because my manager just stood there... looking into the sky like she was seeing aliens or something. But when we were finally out of the red, we all packed up and went home. As I observed the damage on my way home, I noticed that the flag pole at Chick-Fil-A right beside my work was bent and touching the ground. Defiantly some scary stuff! I hope that I can get involved and help people out who were not as fortunate as me.
